Since to the rise of the institutions of the
Italian Literary Parks - from an idea of
Stanislao Nievo (pro-nephew of Ippolito) and
according to the suggestion of the relative
Foundation Ippolito Nievo - it was set as a
primary purpose to baptize a park with the name
of the writer Nino Savarese, because his
activity of writer, playwright, poet and
essayist is recognized in the whole Country and
to the foreign countries. An intention that goes
beyond his qualified figure, also because so
many places - not to say the most greater part -
reenter (to be described in his works) in the
run that the Literary Park includes. Places
therefore that they have almost been primary
sources of inspiration and natural scenery of
the totality of his job of writer. To this is
added that above all the country civilization,
the world of the zolfares and that of the
artisans of the ennese were the protagonists of
his works.
The
itinerary that has been individualized for being
traced start from Enna, from the Fortress of
Cerere and from the Castle of Lombardy; he
passes the valley-district of Valverde (the most
ancient of the city and place of the myth, since
residence of Demetra according to the most
authoritative sources and the testimonies that,
today gives still confirmation of it with the
rites, the recurrences and the parties,),
therefore he arrives to the tower of Federico
with his impending gardens the other ancient
district of the Greek. Going down for the
historical center it passes for the Mother
church with - in the same plaza - the two
museums: Alessi and Varisano. Then it goes for
churches, monasteries, ancient buildings (Chiara
mountain, Pollicarini, Benedictine, Varisano)
and so street, in the heart of the city where
the Arab-Norman bell tower of St. Giovanni is
found, also surrounded from ancient churches and
ancient residences. In the district of the
oldest market in the city, the house of Nino
Savarese is found.
